Norman Alden

Norman Alden is an American actor who played the role of Lou Caruthers in Back to the Future. Born on September 13, 1924, in Fort Worth, Texas, Alden served in World War II, and even skated in the roller derby, before perfecting a stand-up comedy routine. Norm Alden was signed to a development deal by NBC in 1954, where he got a role in its series Matinee Theater [1]. As a character actor, he frequently played tough guys, often as a sports team coach. In Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, he had a memorable appearance as a coach who drowned after collapsing face-down into a bowl of chicken soup, and he coached Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson in the film Semi-Tough. Alden was also the voice of Aquaman, on The Super Friends.
